Again in North Carolina. Wife got laid off was supposed to get bereavement pay death in the family really close. She certifies for the week anticipating employer will pay bereavement. Doesn't pay. Wife gets much lower unemployment compensation like less than $10 for the week.

Aside from waging a complaint with the employer HR which is what I told her to do what other options does she have? Can she go back and change the certification for that week?

Her claim is for all intents and purposes dead because she ended up getting a better job. I know the employer in question these people are notorious for trying to screw people over. Worked there myself a few years back they tried to game my vacation pay. Unsuccessfully.

Since NC UI is nothing but online and she cannot go in or even reach by telephone what can she do to correct that week's wages and get what she was entitled to?
