I've searched a bit without luck.

I've been on UI for about 4.5 months and fortunately found a job recently. Due to Xmas and New Year's, I won't actually start until next week. With only 2 days worked next week, how does that affect my UI claim (CA) for that period? I know one of the questions is whether you worked at all even if not paid.

My claim is for the max amount (450) and even with just 2 days, my gross pay will likely exceed that by a small amount.

Will I get $0 for that week? Or will I get something?

I realize after that week I would not be getting anything. I don't know if the "even if you weren't paid" part cuts you any slack though, and only cuts you off the week after.. or if because I exceeded my Max pay (450) I would get nothing?

Also, my UI claim dates are for this week (not working) and next week (working 2 days). I assume that I would still get paid in full for this week?

You report your hours and GROSS wages for the two days.

If the amount is less than CA's partial UI formula allows, you'll get the difference. Unlike many other state UI systems, CA allows you to gross more than $450 and still get something up to about $599 where you get a $1 UI partial payment.

Thank you!
My EDD reporting will be: 0 hours this week, 16 hours next week.

EDD will still pay in full for this week (0 hours), and any adjusted UI benefits (whether partial UI or no UI) will only affect next week (16 hours) even if they're reported on the same 2-week period?

"Losing" up to $450 UI for working some days next week is fine since I'll be making income at that time.. I just want to make sure that doesn't affect this week (working 0 hours) since both are reported together.
