Hi everyone -- I got this message in my EDD CA UI Online portal. What happened was I ultimately submitted a written certification sheet for the 1st 2 weeks, but this was before I realized I could do it online. Once I set up my UI Online account, it showed the certification as not submitted so I did it online too just so I wouldn't incur any late penalties. I guess my snailmail certification came sometime after that.

Is there anything I have to do? It doesn't say anything outside of 'duplicate' and I hope/assume that I won't be penalized.

Ah, but if I go to the specific certify page, it looks like they discarded the paper forms as duplicates and the online ones are pending. So I should do nothing?

I called and got through. They said this happens all the time, the initial mailing certification mail says it needs to arrive by X date, and many people do it online too to make sure it arrives in time. "No harm no foul."

How long after an unemployment eligibility interview, assuming you're approved afterwards, does it take to get paid? From perusing it looks like 4-8 business days or so? Still says pending online but I interviewed Friday afternoon.

Default Edd: Duplicate

Hi my husband is in the same boat with the “duplicate”
It has been 2 weeks and nothing. We are not able to get through on the phone. We did leave a email with EDD 5-7 business days for a reply. Any info would help at that point.

I have the exact same error where on the homepage it says status is Duplicate. On the claim history page, it says "Duplicate" for Paper method, but it says "Cancelled" for the UI Online method. Does anyone know what this means or what I can do?
I know this post is old. I am posting on 4/25/2020 during the COVID-19 lay-offs. I can't reach anyone at EDD on the phone.

Has anyone learned what is going on right now? I certified online last night. Today when I checked, it gave me the same status as above poster. “Duplicate” for paper, and “Cancelled” for the UI online. I did NOT mail anything in to them.

I called the other number EDD has listed during the Covid-19 pandemic and they couldn’t help. They said they don’t have access to the accounts.
