Hi!

There is literally not much on google for mass waiting periods right now. Lots of stories about wait times for APPEALS and issues years ago when they changed the head of the Department etc. but nothing recent.

I have requested five weeks through UI. Got the monetary determination, no issues there. Payment is just on hold. When I called last week, a somewhat cocky guy at the call center said I was lucky that my claim was even looked at before six weeks. (He stayed it was assigned to an adjuster) literally gave me a lecture about how they need to send a questionnaire to my former employer and by law allow them time to answer it. I get that. I can read dude. However, I was on UI several years ago and got a check within three weeks (with the first week held).

Only poss. Issue-got a phone call early in my claim stating they had my “old last name” (I was married until 2012 changed back to maiden name in 2012) my social security card states it was issued 2013 with the current name. I had a claim in 2014 under the current name and they paid it and the same is the same. No idea how they pulled the married name up from anywhere. Anyway this issue with my name was corrected by the third week in claiming benefits.

They tried to tell me that I must be used to using the married name and typed it. There is no place to “type” your name if u have an account online already. I printed my screens out and forms when I applied. All correct name. I know my name state of Massachusetts. Thanks.

I have spoken to Hr at former employer I’m 99% sure they won’t fight it they were sending the paperwork back a week ago.

So, we just suffer until Unemployment bequests is with a payment? Because an employer HAPPENED to can us at a bad money time that is tough? I just don’t get it.

Anyone have a claim recently and want to comment for myself and the people googling??

Thanks!!

10 weeks isn't unheard of. I've stumbled upon outliers of over 18 weeks.

Keep waiting.
