So I came out to indiana while on nj unemployment because my friend had a place to stay for super cheap while i applied for work back home and here. Soon after I realized still had a terrible job market (probably due to being so densely populated) so I called in and it says to update my address go online. There was no way to update my address to an out of state address on their site. So I find a number call on their site to update to an out of state address, it said that I can't call from my area. Every time I called the basic unemployment number, I couldn't get through time and time again. Finally I found a contact us form on the unemployment site and filled out and let them know the deal and submitted it. I never heard back so I sent another. They responded and said due to high volume, they would get back to me in 7-8 business days. I waited three weeks and nothing. I send another message. This time someone finally responds and says I can just send my new address to them. I do that. I assume everything's been taken care of. A few weeks later I happen to check, out of curiousity. They didn't update anything! So I sent yet ANOTHER message (at this point this has been going on for MONTHS!) and they say sorry for the confusion, send it again. I sent it again and they sent me a screenshot of my address in their system so I know it's finally done. I sent one final message basically telling them that I've been trying to update my address with them for months and due to their terrible process I don't want to be held accountable and have someone try to tell me that I was claiming from IN without letting them know when I let them know on more than several occassions. Should I be worried about anything? I've always thought nj unemployment was awful and wouldn't be surprised if they swept all my messages under the rug and tried to say that I owed them. As I said, I was legitimately looking for work in NJ and IN. And yes i would have relocated back home within a day or two to start work if I had to in NJ.

No. If something bad happens, you have proof for a hearing to show otherwise.
