Hi everyone, I have a quick question for anyone on PA EUC. My regular UC was exhausted last Weds (June 19th), I received my paperwork about EUC on the following day, filled it out, and faxed it on Friday. I've read that they try to process everything as quickly as possible in order to not have a huge gap in payments. My question is, how long should it take? Should I continue to file for benefits as I would do normally, or do I need to wait until I receive verification?
I tried to file last Sunday (the 30th) as normal, and was not able to as the PA UC site told me that my UC claim was inactive, but nothing about EUC. I called on Tuesday, and told the lady how I had exhausted my regular UC funds, filed out the EUC form, faxed it, and had still not heard anything back yet. She told me that they just had not updated the system yet and she filed my 2 weekly claims, and mentioned something about filing again on the 7th.
Here it is Friday and I still have not received a letter stating if I was approved or not for EUC. I would imagine if I was not eligible then the lady would of told me, and would not of even bothered to file? I'm just really worried, and the bills are starting to mount again. Is PA just really swamped and slow at updating their systems? :/
PA can be a very slow on the processing end. See what happens on Sunday when you were told you could claim. If the system doesn't accept it, of course, call them again.
To qualify for EUC in PA, you need base-year earnings in excess of 40x your weekly benefit if you don't have the requisite 20 weeks' earnings in your claim. If your original benefit was for 26 weeks, chances are your claim qualifies for EUC.
I don't think your issue is not qualifying - it's just a case of processing.
