Iam a full time student pursing a nursing degree and was recently given a training waiver. Since iam full time student do i still need to look for work. The claims office wasnt specific about this at all. They just told me i was aprroved for training. Can anybody clarify this?

Generally, no. But when you file for your UE by phone anyway, if you press "yes" to "did you look for work", it will come on and tell you that "our records show that you are in approved training" & ask you the question again. Next time press no. The system isn't always caught up with what you are doing. They knew I finished school - or should have - but it still wouldn't let me press yes - still said I was in approved training.

So I would say take your cue from the phone filing system, and do what lets you file. It will catch up eventually.

follow the directions on the claim for weekly benefits website and or the telephone. when you are in an approved training program you are exempt usually from looking for work.
