I liked the early original "I Love Lucy" series and the other cast members (not the later Lucy shows), but was never a fan of Lucy herself. I always found her really loud and annoying. It's interesting that she was a very different character in the films she made before this. IMO, Desi was actually funnier, especially in "The Long, Long Trailer."

Leave it to Beaver which was the closest series to my own family
and Beaver was my exact age. Loved Wally and Eddie Haskel. I watch
this show almost every morning at 8:00 on ME TV.

I thought Vivian Vance was just as good of an actress as Lucky, if not more so!

It's on Amazon Prime, both seasons.

Be honest. How many of you thought Angie Dickenson was the first female lead in a TV police drama?

She wasn't.

Beverly Garland starred in Decoy as policewoman Casey Jones of the NYPD. 39 half hour episodes in 1958 filmed in the gritty style of The Naked City.

All the episodes are on Amazon Prime.

As a child growing up in the 1960's I of course watched most of the popular shows.

I remember with the most fondness, The Andy Griffith Show, F-Troop, Mod Squad, Batman, and just for the wonderful songs, The Monkees. Most seem dated of course now, but the Andy Griffith Show is somehow timeless. Same with the 1950's Honeymooners.

I don't remember thinking too much about Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C. then, but I caught a couple of episodes recently on a cable network while on vacation, and I found it to be laugh-out-loud hilarious for some reason.

I wish they'd show reruns of shows like Candid Camera, Art Linkletter's Garden Party, early Passwords, etc. Maybe it's a consent thing since they utilized real people?
