Deon, 50 and Karen 41 live in Las Vegas, have 14 children. Two were single deliveries, then a set a male twins, quints which are 3 girls and 2 boys, they then had triplets, but lost one named Carter (Karen's maiden name). He is the only Derrico that does not have a "D" name. The 2 remaining boys are referred to as the "triplins" which is triplets and twins combined and shortened. After the triplins, it's another triplet delivery with 1 boy and 2 girls. One girl Dawsyn had heart issues. Karen was pregnant again when they were a year old but she lost the baby. They're prepared to have more if it's "Gods will". In articles, Karen is referred to as Evonne, I guess it's her real name that she doesn't go by.
I always wondered how they could afford all of the kids. Last week I caught an article that said they've attempted to file bankruptcy 5 times but either changed their minds or the judge threw it out. Today I caught an article that said their home was going for foreclosure sale on September 1 at 9am with opening bids for the 2,321-square foot house starting at $430,254.
When the show season ended a few weeks ago, Karen had an "idea" to move back to her family in South Carolina to start a children's clothing line from sewing it to selling it themselves. Deon originally said absolutely not, not right now anyway. Karen had some sort of health episode, ended up at the hospital which gave Deon a change of heart all of a sudden. What I think the reality of it is that they had to move because they're losing the house. Karen's "idea" was the excuse on why they're doing it.
When Karen lost the last pregnancy, "GG," Deon's mother was very outspoken about how against she is on them having more children. She claimed that she was not only tired, very exhausted from doing what she does every day to help. She had recently relocated to live on the same block because her help is extremely needed, especially since Karen refuses to hire a nanny because they're a stranger. She was hoping someone in the family would step up which is what ended up happening. Their honorary Derrico named Eric took on the nanny role. I just read that Eric is married but not much is known about his wife who's a violinist. Eric met Deon through real estate, struck up conversation with him, they've been friends ever since. Deon, 50, is more like a father to 31 year old Eric who is a year older than Deon's adopted son Derron who was 11 or 12 when Deon adopted him before he met Karen.
From the article linked below, it sounds like he's met the older singleton's because he says he doesn't know any of the quints who are now 7. Deon helped him find his bio mother. He met Deon when Deon drove a school bus, he believed at the time he couldn't father kids. He asked Deon to adopt him because he was in the foster system. It worked out well for him because it sounds like he thrived under Deon's care. Deon is a grandfather who has never met his granddaughter. The article doesn't say how old she is. According to the 2nd article about the adopted son, he had already been estranged from Deon since a year before a 2014 article came out. This article says Deon took out student loans in the adopted son's name along with multiple credit cards. The student loan totaled about $48,000 when the 2014 article was written due to interest driving the original amount.
The adopted son said he doesn't think Deon and Karen are married because Deon wouldn't marry her when she asked because he didn't want her to get everything he worked hard for. Deon claims to have been married in California in 2005 which can't be confirmed because their marriage records are private. Karen was referred to as a girlfriend in a 2008 Detroit article. He said if they ever married, he never saw it before he left them in 2013. I highly recommend the last article if you watch the show. My opinion of Deon has changed. He's a money hungry guy who had a reality show in mind. I do wonder if their multiples are really legit and not from fertility treatment related like they claim now that I've read that.
I see Deon has joined the ranks of people begging on [b]Go Fund Me[/b] which has $320 raised of $435,000 goal. It's been up for 4 days, I don't think he will raise that much money. People all assume they're making pretty good money on TLC. In the narrative, it says GG (Deon's mother - Marian Derrico) needed a triple bypass surgery. Someone named James started it, Deon's PR specialist wrote the narrative. While she works for him, she doesn't know much except what she read in The Sun news article. She also says if you don't feel comfortable doing the go fund me, you can mail a check directly to Deor lol I guess people can also speak to Deor on his twitter page. I see Paula is posting there.
Looks like Deon has tried a bunch of stuff to stop the foreclosure including trying to get a temporary restraining order to prohibit it, but his motion was denied by the court.
Deon has a now old blog called The Derricos Divine9! that the adopted son is excluded from.

A petition for foreclosure mediation assistance was filed by Deon in March 2020 after the home he bought in 2015 went into default in February 2020, according to court papers obtained by The Sun.
The filing was to provide a 'remedy of last resort for the homeowner to avoid foreclosure and loss of his/her home' via a mediation process involving the owner and lender.
A mediator was assigned, but a loan modification was unable to be agreed upon and negotiations ended.

He also said that, although he still loved Deon, he had proof that Deon had not only taken out a student loan in his name when Derron was still in high school, but also multiple credit cards. When questioned about the accusations, Deon told the outlet that he felt like he "helped raise the devil."

They're a few episodes in, Karen is pregnant again but they do not know if she is carrying multiples again or not.
They're in Myrtle Beach, SC looking to start a business. She talked about a clothing company but now she wants to do something on Atlantic beach where African Americans were only allowed to use 4 blocks of way back when everything was segregated according to what Karen said before the township board.
What's interesting is that they had a 41/51 birthday party where Eric was seen flirting and dancing with a guest. In one article above, it says Eric is married. I just found his instagram, he's a 30 year old boxer, looking to go pro and he says he's recently divorced.
I tried to watch it once, didn't find it interesting.
BTW, it doesn't matter if the father has multiples in his family. Women must produce multiple eggs (or have fertilized eggs that splits in the case of identical twins), men's sperms cannot affect that.

I know it is on the woman's end but you know how men love to think they have super man sperm lol
I'm not as into it this year as last 2 seasons, maybe finding those articles I linked kind of killed the show for me.
I'll be surprised if it lasts like the Duggars or one of the popular multiples shows. I doubt it will.
I don't watch that one (they both strike me as scammers and grifters; they've for real had run-ins with the law), but I do love my trash TV on TLC! Sister Wives, 7 Little Johnston, Little People Big World, My 600-Pound Life, I Am Jazz, My Big Fat Fabulous Life, etc. I'll happily join you in threads about THOSE guilty pleasures!
I won't watch a show depicting a Quiverfull family as IMO the belief system is disgusting.
I'm not sure they're sincerely devoted to the quiverful religious conviction like the Duggars. Mostly I think they were just after fortune and fame and a TLC show. And I'm pretty sure they used (and abused) fertility drugs to get there.

I agree with fortune and fame chasing. I hope it works out for them, I'm not sure they can hold an audience for more than a few seasons though.
They have not used fertility drugs according to everything I've read. Some women are just naturally fertile. Multiple births have happened way before IVF.
I watched their "wedding" episode. IIRC from my first post, they aren't even married. I doubt the Disney "wedding" was legal with his mother doing it. It was nothing more than a story line for the show.
Agree; they're fame whores. Additionally, they're trying to make The Jackson Five (or Derrico Fourteen) out of their kids. Maybe they're hoping Disney will hire them to perform! At any rate, I'd rather watch "The Little Couple." Maybe start a TLC (in general) thread instead of one devoted to just this one show no one watches?
The couple can afford those kids only by going on reality TV show.
