'Dancing With the Stars' sounds likely to bring back bad boy Maks Chmerkovskiy

The new season of Dancing kicks off on Sept. 16 at 8 p.m. (Eastern)and is slated to air only on Monday nights. No results shows on Tuesdays.

^^ Good news!! I had heard Derek wouldn't be back. Hopefully, this won't be his last season. That man can choreograph like no one else!!

I had thought they might introduce the new cast at the end of The Bachelorette last night, as they usually introduce the new Bachelor in either November or January when DWTS is almost done for the year. For them to announce Juan Pablo tonight was different. I wonder when we'll find out who the new cast is?

Tristan's partner will be Valerie Harper. I loved her in Mary Tyler Moore and in Rhoda, but she was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer earlier this year.

According to the article, Ms. Harper has already started practicing with her partner, Tristan McManus.

Wow. It also says she was given a three month prognosis back in March.

I also didn't realize she's 74! (I'm starting to feel very old now for some reason.........)

Anyway, if it's true, kudos to her. I can't imagine, though, that that kind of grueling workout and schedule could be good for someone in her situation. I hope it doesn't aggravate her condition.
