I will be driving from the upper midwest down to Dallas and would like to overnight in Tulsa. Is there a good exit in or around Tulsa with cheap hotels, restaurants and a mall nearby?

Also, from Tulsa, is it faster to take Hwy. 75 south to Dallas or to take the turnpike to OKC and then shoot down I-35?

Any opinions or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

There are some mid-price motels in the general vicinity of the Promenade Mall in Midtown, but that would be closer to I-44 or the BA (aka Hwy 51) than 75. (Hwy 75 is more west, which is an area I'm less familiar with. I do know there aren't any big malls out that way.) The cheap motels that aren't scary tend to be in East Tulsa.

Personally, I'd take 75 to Dallas to avoid the tolls. I-35 is wider, but 75 isn't bad.

I have driven both routes from Tulsa to Dallas and prefer driving I-35 over US 75. They both take about the same amount of time but it is more miles by I-35.
I avoid us75/69 because of 4 reasons.
Stringtown
Atoka
Kiowa
Tuska
All of these locations are MAJOR SPEED TRAPS and if you make a mistake of driving any amount over the speed limit they will pull you over. You can be sure they will get into your wallet.

You can stay in Glenpool at the Best Western if you are coming via US75 OR 71st ST. and US 75 in Tulsa.

The reason I ask is that there is a new mall at I-75 at 71st St. but it doesn't have dept stores such as Macy's, Sachs, Nordstrom, or Penneys in case you'd want to shop for clothing. The mall does have Best Buy, Lowes, Bed Bath & Beyond, Target, Belk, Books a Million, etc.

You might like the Holiday Inn Express in Jenks which is essentially a suburb of Tulsa on the southwest side. Aquarium and Riverwalk Crossing restaurants and shopping are within walking distance.

surprise you , so check it out...Howest2008...

Really? You must not travel the same US 75 I do, which is rather boring below McAlister (sic...that's actually McAlester).

Now if you talk Talimena Drive, which is actually OK Hwy 1 from Talihina east to Mena AR, that's different.

talimena drive - Google Maps

I have driven both and Highway 75 can't hold a candle to Highway 59
and Highway 259 and Highway 1...but I still wound consider Highway 75
pretty SCENIC..just not the MOST SCENIC Highway..and it certain beats
Interstate 35 HANDS DOWN.....
