i am a recently engaged 33 year old who lives in Dallas.
my husband to be has just opened a business in oolagah and is living at the greens in owasso. he moved here from texas in the summer, and has not gotten to know the area well enough to know where we should look. we considered buying, but may rent for a year to get an idea of area a little better before making the commitment on a house. right now we need to make plans for me to move up here from dallas in June, but i do not know the area at all. in dallas there are many apartment locater companies that will do the work FOR you- and i have yet to find that type of service for tulsa. i am left calling a long list of apartments and consistenly hear that they only allow small dogs. i don't know HOW i stumbled upon this site, but have read a TON on what is what...so i thought i would ask all of you for some help.
what we are looking for:
-60 pound lab is a MUST- he is 3.5 years old- used to aparment living, but needs a place to run- parks nearby, a real ++
-2 bedroom
-updated living! (i liked the look of the palazzo, but no go on the dog deal)
-ample parking
-safe area
-location? he is willing to commute north to get to his office- again, it is in oolagah...a reasonable commute, would be nice...30 minutes...

so- if you have advice to offer, please do!
thanks so much~
ALSO- is there a tulsa visitor place that i should go visit, and possibly gather information?!?

Have you tried these resources?

http://www.bestoftulsa.com/apartment...uide_map.shtml

I also understand the Philtower Lofts downtown allow large dogs. It's a high-rise though and you might not wish to take your dog down 20 floors on an elevator to go poo.

I'm not a resident of Tulsa and haven't been so for a long time so I can't help you with too many specifics. I suggest you go to www.google.com and type in Tulsa Apartment finder, and dogs to see what comes up.

Good luck!

Your soon to be hubby is already home!! Owasso is a great place to live, great school system and one of the fastest growing communities in the state, plus it's a short drive to his business in Oologah. Or, you could find a place around lake Oologah, it's a large lake just east of the town.
