Does anyone have any info on the North Lewis area? Around 46th St. I have heard the northern part of Tulsa was the worst is this true? Is this area run down?
Is the crime rate higher? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Back when I lived there it was not a good neighborhood, but that was about 20 years ago. I suspect it's still not a good area; the North side is where most of the crime is centered in Tulsa. If I were you, I'd look South of Pine Street. But just to be sure, get some other opinions. I'm certainly not up to date on all of the good and bad areas of Tulsa as all I do anymore is visit. Want to move back but can't for a few years. Good luck!

I've read some things in this forum about how bad North Tulsa is. Where does it start streetwise?

Do not venture north of Pine. Don't venture further north than 21st and S. Lewis. Going into north Tulsa is a death wish. Visit the forum at Tulsanow.org -- it will give you lots of information on north Tulsa.

Hog wash every area can be bad. Out east bunch of people were killed & maimed by pissed off x husband. Everywhere can be dangerous. Stay away from walmarts in the middle of the day! In midtown or methmart at 81 lewis or adm memorial or broken arrow. I'm. Female cab driver here for over 20 years, everywhere can be dangerous these days. Just stay alert & on guard at all times.

I know the "official" cutoff for North Tulsa starts at Admiral. Some parts of North Tulsa are fine, but it's true that the area has traditionally been known as the "bad area."

Crazydriver is right, there are a lot of trouble spots in South Tulsa as well.
