Some rental complex suggestions for the NW suburb, which is extremely convenient to every kind of retail and service imaginable, plus: a good library, one of Tucson's best YMCAs, recreational areas galore, multiple supermarkets, churches of every denomination, and Northwest Hospital with every medical specialty covered. Both traffic and crime are very low key.

Tierra Vida (formerly Club Carmel): pet-friendly, beautiful mountain views, 2 bedrooms starting at $700. Tucson Arizona Apartments - Home - Tierra Vida

Sonoran Terraces: gorgeous grounds, great reputation re: mgt., views of Omni Tucson National Golf Resort, about half a mile from Foothills Mall, apts. have fireplaces and private patios. Sonoran Terraces Apartments in Tucson, AZ

Saddle Ridge: near North Oracle Rd. retail center and closer to Oro Valley, walk to Trader Joes, two pools, fitness and business centers. Saddle Ridge Apartments in Oro Valley, AZ

Catalina Crossing: on North Oracle, 1 bedrooms start at $564, club house with picnic grounds, pet-friendly, convenient access to supermarkets, Target, Home Depot. Tucson Arizona Apartments - Home - Catalina Crossing

Rock Ridge: in town of Oro Valley (best library in Tucson), pet-friendly, gorgeous views, well-designed club house and fitness center, apts. bigger than other places here (read "more expensive"), near Catalina State Park and brand new Oro Valley Marketplace shopping complex. Tucson Arizona Apartments - Home - Rock Ridge

Hey I just joined .I'm a bit of a rover..currently I have been living in Bristol, england ..that is...funky /arty city in many ways..this my wife and I, like...but the grey skies & brit' taxes, courtesy of her majesties taxation outfit...leave me gaspin' a bit. I like the REAL ALE and Pub atmosphere BUT Tucson Micro Brews like Gentle Ben's are singing my song as does the Loft and The Congress and numerous small eating establishments..Mex to Thai to Korean Etheopian.thanks be to likes of google and Realators pages. AND apart from passing thru' 50 years ago as a student & down into the great Sonora..is all I know. WE are Dual Americans via UK & Brasil....all my kids and Grand Kids are American and gettin' older and creaky from damp Tucson may do us good..hey why NOT!

I'd suggest that you also consider Green Valley, 20 miles to the south. Close enough to Tucson for whatever you might want to do, yet a bit less expensive and incredibly safe.
