I am living in Hereford,AZ and have a few hawks always flying around,they land very close to the house.I have 3 small dogs.Is there any thing I can do to make them stay away..

Desert Hawks are beautiful creatures aren't they? They can, sadly, take a small pet (cat or dog) for their evening meal....I know of nothing that can be done to "keep them away"....but you could build a dog run for your fur babies that is covered. That's what we had to do....the dog (a 9 pounder) can get outdoors and is safe at the same time. We watch her (like a hawk) and don't leave her out unsupervised.....it's not just the Hawks you must worry about.....other things are; rattle snakes, scorpions, gila monsters, river toads and coyotes........
