i was a little surprised that they decided not to go for the death penalty if this was premeditated.

I think they will have a harder time getting a conviction with the death penalty on the table for a number of reasons.

If they can find Caylee's body and Dr. G can prove that she was murdered intentionally, it might be a different story.

At this point if it means the chances of conviction are better without the death penalty on the table, so be it. I just want that woman to rot in a 6x9 cell plastered with Caylee's face for the rest of her life.

I'm against the death penalty. How many innocent people have we killed? With all of the new DNA tests, we are finding that we have convicted innocent people.

In this case there is no proof of any murder. It's pretty drastic to execute someone nd then years later find out they didn't commit a crime. Life in prison is bad enough.

with DNA now, there is very little chance of getting the wrong killer anymore. nobody should be executed without DNA proof, but i am all for protecting citizens from evil however it needs to be done. there seems to be some sympathy for casey but i cannot imagine why.

Default I do not

believe in the death penalty for many reasons. Allowing convicted killers to spend the rest of their lives in jail, without parole, fearing "BUBBA." and looking over their shoulders every minute of their lives. is punishment enough. By killing them via an injection, the pain is short-lived.

I think life in prison will be punishment enough for her, knowing she can't go partying again.

I do not believe there has ever been a death penalty sentenced for a murder conviction without a body.

Someone can correct me if I am wrong but I couldn't find information of anyone being sentenced to death in the United States without evidence of a body.

I was going to basically say the same thing....then I saw your post. Without a body.... a death sentence just isn't going to fly....especially for a young female.

Maybe it's just me, but if I were her I would prefer spending the next 10 years on death row in isolation than to be put in the general population with a bunch of women just as crazy as she is who really MISS their own kids.

Was Lacey Petersons body found before or after Scott was sentenced?
