The south coast of Spain is very popular among places for Europeans to visit in the fall and winter.

Ciao! Sardegna...is soooo beautiful. You can't imagine how beautiful. My boyfriend is from Sardinia. He lives in northern Sardinia. I spent a month there in Feb and March and it was quite chilly. La Maddalena is absolutely beautiful and very close to Porto Cervo where my bf's friends work in the summer. In October it is still pretty warm, warm enough for the beach but you will have some cool days, it just depends on the day. Even in March we had a couple warm days where it was nice to walk without a jacket.

Sardinia is also pretty inexpensive compared to most places. Cagliari is a more of a hopping place to be but if you are just looking for beautiful beaches and experience great food and people I can get some information for you. Agriturismo are like a bed and breakfast type of place, the food is sooo amazing, it is typical traditional Sardinian cuisine.

La Maddalena used to have a base for the US military, it has been closed for some time but it also is right near Caprera where Garibaldi's house is, he is the Italian National Hero, I visited it was very nice. The water is so greenish blue and clear, it is the most amazing thing I have seen. BTW-it is typically cheaper to fly into London from the states and then take a ryan air flight into Alghero.

Anyway, if you have any questions we would be more than happy to answer them for you. I also have a lot of beautiful pictures too if you would like to see them.

Would love some input from anyone that has traveled at this time.

So, sorry I am a GOOB...you're in Germany...lol Well, then I guess you would know that you could fly with ryan air pretty cheap...as long as you don't have more than 15 kilos for all checked bags and 10 kg for your carry on...lol (that isn't quite clear on the website, especially when in the states its different, I found out the hard way!!)

We were on Santorini (Greek Isles) and Naxos in early November, last year. The weather was great; just warm enough to swim in the ocean. The islands were deserted. It was really peaceful and enjoyable. Off-season rates for clifftop views were around 50 euros a night. That price would also get you a hilltop villa in Naxos with a sweeping view of Hora.

Storms can cut off ferry transportation, though. We got caught by a gale for a day and whiled away the time sipping long drinks down by the bay.
