I use to live in Fairbanks, AK. I would go back there in a heartbeat hopefully one day I will. If any of you ever get the chance go. You will not regret it is so amazing!

The weather was amazing... perfect! Sunny and warm and light about 20 hours a day. That is hard to get used to. I can't imagine what winter is like. One of the workers said it doesn't get light until ten and is dark by four and that would be very depressing. Lots of problems with alcohol probably due to the weather.
I agree with the one who said she would like to go to the smaller towns. The three we went to were pretty tourist oriented. After the first town all the shops looked the same. I tried to find one who made their own items. Hard when they have to make the whole year's income in five months.
I would certainly go again....

A few years ago, I saw a GREAT deal to Iceland in December. I think that it was $299 for airfare and three days in Reykjavik. In March, the same package was $699. What's the deal, I thought.

Three hours of sunlight!
