Taking COPA airlines from LAX to Quito Ecuador in early February. What type of reputation do they have? I bought an economy class ticket but did put in a bid for business class as overnight flight from LAX to Panama City. Taking American Airlines back - Quito-Miami- LAX. American has very basic service - no food served on 5 hour flights and only entertainment provided is on one's smart tablet but at least there were no delays.
From the statistically insignificant anecdote department = I've taken them a few times and never had a problem, they are often one of the better options in that region and Panama is a nice place to connect.
From LAX, the Copa connection in Panama results in a bit less flying time to many destinations in S. America compared to LAX-Miami-S. America. It is a more direct route, about 500 miles shorter. I've used Copa a couple of times with nothing out of the ordinary to report. Agree that the airport in Panama is a good one for connections.
You should keep updated on covid situation on Ecuador entry requirements. Did I just read they are limiting arrivals? Or just negative test maybe?
Ecuador is great. You are visiting Cuenca no?
Second time going to Ecuador and last time we visited Cuenca among other places. This time after Quito flying to Galapagos for a week via Avianca (Quito to Baltra)
