Only you can know the answer to that question, only after you've tried it. If you're in your 20s, there is no physiological reason why it should be difficult, and I did it dozens of times, but I haven't done it solo since I was 50.

If you've never done it, make sure you have an extra day and you don't HAVE to get there. on time.

I frequently drive from the the SF Bay Area to Sequim Washington.
I’m 60 years old.
It’s a 13 and a half hour drive.
I aways have a copilot.

We normally go north right when I come home from work.
I do the second shift after my nap.

Coming back we leave at 2:00 am and I normally drive the whole way.

I have done long road trips all my life.
It helps to walk around a bit while the ride is being fueled up.
I also recommend doing stretch and flex exercises.

Your trip doesn’t sound safe at all.
You could really destroy a family.
Do you really want to do that.
Makes as much sense as drunk driving to me.

Don’t do it.

Rest areas are sometimes used by people "cruising" for temporary companionship of an X-rated nature. They have gotten better lately with 24 hour supervision.

So where is the OP, anyway? did they leave on the trip already?
My wife and I would stop at the truck stops and rest. We always felt safer than at the state rest areas. It is not only that, but the showers are usually very reasonable. I don't know if the truck stops still do it, but they used to give out shower tickets if the trucks bought so much fuel. Many truckers would not use those tickets and would simply post them on the bulletin board and anybody that grabbed them could use them. Maybe the pandemic changed all of that? But those showers were clean and and a great way to freshen up again for the road.

Driving after being awake 18 hours is the same as having a BAC of .05 which is getting close to being drunk. Continuing to drive without sleeping would be like already being drunk and continuing to drink heavily while driving at night on an interstate getting drunker. Door to door the trip is going to be 25 or 26 hours. Thats like driving drunk for 8 hours getting drunker. Absurd

Most of my trucker friends get free showers BUT remember, they are buying $500+ in fuel. And these days, at places like Pilot, they have a card that has the reward points attached to it and those points are redeemed using the card.

You might still be able to buy a shower. However, i do not think that anyone is giving up points.

The peculiarity of truly long trips is that it is impossible to be fully prepared for them. Money can run out of money unexpectedly, your favorite shoes can wear out, your camera can break down, and the space in your passport for visas and stamps can run out.

If you have never driven 24 hours before, dom't assume you can do it. Some people can, and some can't. I found it easy, sometimes 48 hours, but don't commit yourself until you know what it's like.

All this should not scare you in the slightest. The main thing is not to lose your documents, because you risk not returning home. Here's a great passport holder that will help keep your documents safe. The adventures you have along the way will be long remembered. The main thing is to get home, lol!
