Don't top it off - The extra gas evaporates in 10 minutes of driving.
Coast to a stop and take off slowly - Rolling to a stop below about 40 mph can save you money.
Keep windows closed when traveling at highway speeds - Open windows cause air drag, reducing your mileage by 10%.
Park where it's shady - Even during the winter months, the sun can cause evaporation of gas in your tank.
I read that story, but the auto manufacturer counter by saying that's not true about the evaporation as vehicles for years have a safety seal in your gas tank neck that prevents evaporation when you pull the nozzle out. Ever notice when you pull the nozzle out the flap that closes up immediately in the neck. That seal flap prevents evaporation.
Most gas in Bradenton, FL is below 4.00 now sitting like at $3.97-$4.00. It's dropped. A gas station that was a $4.09 last Friday is sitting at $3.99 this Friday. Hope it continues to drop!
It is back down to $3.87 here in West Michigan. Been dropping slowly for a week or so now.
