If it's out of the country, the countdown begins the day I purchase airfare.
If it's within the USA, the countdown probably begins about a month in advance.
I'm not marking it off the calendar or anything, but it's definitely in the back of my mind.
I get pretty excited the week before departure.
At my age, most of the trips I take are trips I really *want* to take.
i planned our trip for august in fbruary. i get excited in the planning. now i just dont even think about it. maybe i will get excited the night before...
I've just went through this planning and taking my vacation.
I am initially excited, when I actually book the flight and give those dates to my folks.
But, that happens months in advance, and the original excitement wears off a bit being all wrapped up because of work, things that need to get done, preparations for the trip.
I get all exited the day of, and can't believe, it's really happening.
The countdown for the next vacation usually starts when I'm waiting at the carousel for my bags coming home from a trip!
Current vacation planning started about a year ago, excitement grew over the last month as I actually made ticket purchases and reservations and laying out the itinerary. My current problem is that I've done about all the planning I can do and I'm still over a month away. It's going to be LONG month at work, that's for sure!
We booked our July vacation over a month ago and have been counting the days and talking about it since then. It can't come soon enough!
