I agree, this is a wonderful trip. My wife and i did it many years ago, mid-June, and taking advantage of the country's farm-stay program. People who visit and focus their stays on Reykjavik and the Blue Lagoon waste a tremendous opportunity.

In 2 months, I will be living on a house that is one car-length away from a cliff with nothing but forest. Come to think of it, I may be living on the end of the earth. LOL. I have been referring to it to my friends as "Living On The Edge" but may also now use the phrase "End Of The Earth" .

I've traveled the Pamir Highway. That's the most remote journey I've taken so far. I've been to Yemen and Mongolia but unfortunately I never left the capital city of either country.

I'm interested in Tibet and Bhutan, Iceland, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, and Iran. Not saying I'll get to any of those anytime soon.

Wow -- I first read Iceland as Ireland and then looked at the pictures -- was a bit puzzled. Ah -- Iceland.
