Did I read the comments correctly? The OP is a teenager, worried about slumming it in a Days Inn? Come back when you actually pay your own way in the world.
Spending a little time in nine states on the East Coast does not make one an expert of this country. I've "slummed it" a little this past month, and it really depends on the hotel. I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express that was fairly new and had nice, modern rooms. I don't know anything about this air show, but seriously, how many nights are you actually staying? Being forced to spend a night or two in a clean, decently priced room is probably not going to ruin your trip. If it does, you need to check your priorities.

We're going there next summer and we can't find a single 4 star hotel. We tried to slum it and go for a residence inn but they've block booked the rooms!
We can't really find anywhere, it's either in another city or hundred's of miles away! Does anyone have any suggestions as to where we could look in central Wisconsin! Some of the houses are so dingy, I'm not trying to offend but i'm used to more luxurious places than just wooden walls!
I am willing to lower my standards slightly, but not to a dump or somewhere isolated. Our budget is $2,000 for a week. Any ideas?

Hi, we're waiting to December to book the flights and then we will book a Residence Inn hotel that we have managed to get a deal with. (They have block booked it)
