Charlie's Bar is an interesting "hole in the wall" place that you might be interested in. We went to the butterfly farm and saw some really beautiful butterflies. We also rented a Harley Davidson to explore the island. And like others have said, it is very windy. Probably the most wind I have ever experienced. I played golf there and the course is nothing special. The wind made it very difficult.
We have been to Aruba a few times. by far the best place to eat on the island is Flying Fish Bone, make sure to make a reservation early, you will need a car or a taxi to get there, its off the beaten path, go at sunset get the blue-cheese seafood casserole.
We also enjoyed doing the Jolly Pirate snorkeling excursion, the first stop is right over a shipwreck that is right below the surface.
Any other tips from anyone? I've finally gotten to look at a map....we will be staying on the SW corner of the island, between Divi Resort and Bucati Resort. I've made a list of all your suggestions above and we will certainly try to do them all -- thank you! Anything else????
I think you've hit most of the major things to see and do. In our week in Aruba with our toddler daughter we visited:
Casibari Rock Formations
Downtown Oranjestad
Bushibirani gold mill ruins
Aruba ostrich farm
Natural bridge remnants
Aruba butterfly farm
California lighthouse
Philip's Animal Garden
Alto Vista Chapel
Eagle Beach
If it had just been my wife and I we would've spent a day or 2 at Arikok national park, but it's not really toddler friendly. Check it out!
