I'm flying from Las Vegas to Manila in November and one of the flights listed show a direct flight from Las Vegas to Narita and then Narita to Manila. Others give another stop, usually Portland, San Francisco or Seattle. The non-stop to Narita will save me a bunch of time overall, but the time listed between connection for the flights in Narita to Manila is 1:30 hrs. Is this enough time to get between planes in Narita coming from the U.S.? Do you need to go through customs in Japan if you have an onward ticket to the P.I.?

1.5hrs is EZ if USA flight is not delayed (headwind to NAR)
No need to clear customs if you are not laying over in Japan. But you WILL need to scan security (I'm not sure why) BTDT many times in last 20 yrs (often 2x / month).
What are the airlines involved? You may need to ride the shuttle bus from T1 to T2 or v.v. NRT is an easy airport to navigate, you shouldn't have any trouble.
Best way is to check the airport's website to find out their minimum connecting time requirement. Every airport has it and the bigger the airport, the longer the minimum connecting time is required. Or call the airline to find that out for you.
Thanks all, my big concern was that I would have to pick up bags and go through customs between flights. That seems to be not the case, so I'll "wing" it!

Which airline are you thinking about flying with? We fly on Delta from PDX when we travel to BKK. The flight PDX to Narita is non-stop. Our transit layover at Narita is usually 1.5 to 2 hours before boarding our next flight from Narita to BKK which is also on Delta.
For those who are asking, the flight from Vegas to Narita is American and JAL from Narita to Manila.
Your luggage should be onboard JAL when you take off for Manila from Narita. I've switched flights before from Narita to BKK. Never once saw my luggage until I landed in BKK. Hope you have a great time in Manila.

Both JAL and AA use Terminal 2, so it could just be a case of walking to the next gate, or, if one flight uses the satellite and the other the main terminal, just walk to the automatic train (leaves every minute or two) and go to the appropriate end, then walk.
I don't find the airside shopping at T2 to be anything to get excited about, so you can just make your way to the gate. However if you happen to be traveling in business class, the JAL lounges at NRT are terrific.
Sadly, I'll be traveling economy unless I can pick up a great cheap gate upgrade! Thanks for all the info!
