Been to peace centre, parklane and joo chiat too? the "nightlife", you referred to i.e clubs/KTVs, is usually indoors, though....but during my ns days, I never saw non-locals patronize those places though

I know a Dutch guy in his mid 30's working in Singapore for a couple year now, met him in Phuket, Thailand.
He said he travels to Phuket every other weekend, what does that say about Singapore?
I voted for a couple of them and we have already visited a few. At this stage in our lives we have to be content to remember how much fun we had visiting Asia and consentrate more on sight seeing in and around the good ole USA. There is so much to see right here, we do not need a long plane ride to see sights.

singapore still has substantially better nightlife than some of the cities on the list.
If I'm ever one day not terrified of flying...I'd go to Seoul. In fact, chances are fairly good I'd consider moving there. I love the culture and have been studying the language for about 3 years now. One of my good friends is a former tour guide (one of the girls in the red coats!), and she has sent me so many maps, brochures, books and videos I feel like I have already visited many times before.

As someone whom is in Singapore, it really depends and vary a lot; but generally speaking, I would say that the "night-life" areas of Singapore are much more quieter and law-abiding than those of other countries.
Then again, there are some night-life areas that non-locals never visit; they have heard of it but they really need a local to guide them.
But on the whole, from my discussions with locals and non-locals, Singapore is really a lot more cleaner, and tamer than the vast majority of the rest of the world.
