Yes, several times. I had no problems. American often code shares with British Airways since they're under the same alliance.

I've flown from Dallas and Chicago to London on AA. Experiences were fine for economy class on 767 and 777 aircraft. What specifically do you want to know?

I just did SFO-LHR just two weeks ago on AA/BA (747-400). Pretty routine flight.

I used to do JFK-LHR all the time. It is just a longish boring flight. Not much different to JFK - San Francisco or JFK - Phoenix.

It is unlikely to be worse than flying American domestically. As to food, she can always take food on-board with her.

Will this be her first time in London or Heathrow?

So what - it's 6 hours out of her life.

She can pay more for a better seat and maybe better food by flying business or first class. Bring her own food.

And American IS my least favorite airline, but if the price and schedule work for me, I'll deal with it.
