And if so, WHY? Unless I had a child in the finals I wouldn't go near the place, and even then....

I plan to watch some of it on the telly.

I've never had any desire to go to the Olympics. Sochi has nothig to do with it. I'm not wanting the crowds and the expense to watch events that are only interesting becaue it is the Olympics and that I would not watch otherwise.

It's the LAST place I would want to be. The terrorism threat is higher than it has ever been for an Olympics. I do feel badly for the atheletes that have worked so very hard to have this hanging over their heads.

ALL Olympics are terrorist targets no matter where they're held. Hell, even the Atlanta Olympics were bombed here in the good ole' United States back in '96. And let's not forget the Israeli athletes who were killed back in '72 by terrorists.

Yes, and what makes it so sad is that the Olympics were the one event designed to bring everyone around the world together and forget about their differences and concentrate on friendship among nations. That is why it was so wrong for Jimmy Carter to boycott the Moscow Olympics in 1980. I do have to give credit to Vladimir Putin for doing whatever it takes to keep the people safe.
