Indeed. As of the time of me posting this, the Atlanta and Ft. Lauderdale are the only airports with an orange dot. The rest are green.

Flight Delay Information - Air Traffic Control System Command Center

Not all source locations have a dot. At this time the Buffalo airport does not have a dot, but it does say in the details (click on any airport) that it is closed due to snow.

This is a very handy link if you are close to one of the major airports.

I was flying Delta through MSP (Minneapolis) to a more rural destination where Delta has the monopoly. I'll be headed back through MSP at the end of the week so hopefully everything will be straightened out by then!

What airports do you think are closed often? BOS and JFK recently shut down for a period of time due to weather...that sure isn't normal and can happen anywhere because of blizzards, hurricanes, etc. I recently flew back and forth through the upper Midwest in bitter subzero temps and snow...their airports didn't close. I fly regularly for business and I can assure you, there are no reasonably sized/well traveled airports that are closed often.

As mentioned above, the bigger issue is not getting the plane from Point A to Point B, causing a ripple effect. One weather event at a hub can ripple through the entire system lightning fast, which is why a Chicago blizzard can leave people stranded in Texas.
