I found a couple on amazon and elsewhere but reviews seem to be spotty.

I'm looking for something that can hold a little cash, hotel key, cell phone, car keys, camera.

Basically when I (and 3yo) travel with my husband, we are out and about by ourselves quite a bit. Last week , in Waikiki - I noticed someone had something they clamped on to their rented beach chair when they went in the water... I'd also thought it would have been nice to have when we were at the zoo - clamp it onto the stroller when we're in the restroom, petting zoo area, etc....

I *think* I'd prefer something that I can use my own lock on rather than one that has a builtin combo lock.

If it is portable, the thief is just going to take the whole thing.

If it looks like a safe, they are going to assume that there is something valuable inside.

I'd rather just try to fool thieves with one of these:

I meant something like this. Vacation Vault , the reviews for the lock aren't great though....

I get that I don't want to have something that looks like it screams "steal me".

Mostly - when we're out (daughter and I) we've got the stroller with us. But it's not always possible to take the stroller into the stall, or the petting area at the zoo, etc.... I'd like something I clamp to the stroller and maybe throw the baby blanket over....

A shoulder strap purse would work, you can put it cross-body when you need both hands. And it's always with you, not in the stroller. A lightweight backpack is another option.

True, but I'd also like something to use at the beach and the hotel pool. We hang out in Waikiki a lot so the hotel pools are always in areas where anyone can wander thru. At the beach, we nearly always spring for a cabana. I'm generally not that far from our stuff but my daughter is at the age (3yo) where I can't take my eyes off her in or near water....

I bought a small fire-safe box.
But really only for its fire-resistance, since like the others said, a thief would just take the whole thing. I keep it well hidden though, so they'd find a lot of other things to take before getting to that box full of boring stuff. Thieves can use amazon too, if it looks anything remotely like a place to keep your valuable, they'll just take it. Better to fool them or leave your valuables at home.

The brand PacSafe makes the shoulder bags and fanny packs with inner metal cable locks (to attach to a pole) and wire mesh lining to prevent slashing.

There are waterproof containers for cellphones (if you insist on taking electronics into the water). But I would put them into a zip-lock bag first, for extra water security. The cash, keys, and cards seem like a non-issue for the water as there are many things you could use for securing those.

Personally, I would just use a regular small shoulder bag or fanny pack (moved to shoulder/neck) for the petting zoo, restroom etc.
