I'll be traveling with a lot of stuff and after a few quick calculations, driving down would cost me a whole lot less than to fly and pay extra for the baggage.
Can anybody please help with, which route should I take.
I would like to have a scenic drive, stopping on the way taking pictures and having quick breaks.
I understand that it's going to be tiresome, but I'm willing to give in 20 hrs for the drive, taking adequate rest in between.
The drive from here to El Paso will take you about 10 hours. Be careful - somewhere in the middle (on 20), you will have a long stretch with no gas stations. Plan for this. Maybe it's changed since the last time I drove (a few years ago).
From El Paso, it's only 6 hours to Phoenix. THAT part of the drive is scenic and fun. I10.

I've always liked the ride between San Antonio to El Paso (I-10) at night. I know it' ll be out of your way, but I think it's worth it.
