hmm, i read all the posts hear and in the end, I guess places I don't want to visit would be any place I had a pretty good chance of dying, being kidnapped, or being tortured...other than that, I think I would go anywhere. I guess I would stay away from NK right now...and afghanistan and Iraq.

When I was younger I used to say I am not a beach person, then I started dating a beach person and found the appeal....and she found the appeal of mountains and museums. Combining those three are my favorite places to visit.

I really, serioulsy don't get the appeal of Florida.....I don't care to see roaches the size of humans.
Gross if I wanted to go to Disneyland,I will try the one in California.

Safari's....I don't get the appeal. I don't want to be around stanky animals
There is no comparison between Atlantic City and Las Vegas. Atlantic City is just a huge ghetto with a few casinos.

I have no desire to visit:

Europe,
Middle East
China
Canada,
The US mid-West

I have lived in and visited some of those places. No desire to go back.

Once you have been to one casino, you have been to them all.

Well I guess celebrities, sports personalities, olympians, rock artists, royalty, supermodels, swimsuit models together with 40 million people got their destination mixed up for visiting Las Vegas on a regular basis.

Also crossed out on my list are cartel-run towns in Mexico, Central, and South America. Siberia and the North Pole are also on my list. Last, but not least I would prefer never to wander into any African countries where genocide happens unless it's to help people.
I was going to say I didn't have any interest in going to Africa then stopped to think about how big and diverse it is. I have a friend - a single woman - who went on safari in Kenya and took a recent trip to Egypt and loved it, and both of those sound good to me. Travel writer Paul Theroux wrote a book on his trip through Africa ("Dark Star Safari" is the title I think) and it didn't appeal. It should be said that he deliberately avoids tourist areas. Some of it was scary - he was lucky to have survived.

The historic railroad museum in San Diego used to do a day tour to Tecate, Mexico where you toured the Tecate beer brewery. I wanted to do that but a friend talked me out of it. Mexico is just too scary right now - especially along the border.

I can't see myself going to Buffalo either. Or North Dakota (if there's anything there, I don't know about it).

Here's mine: Chicago. It's cold in winter, hot and humid in summer, and if I want to go to a large northern city, it'll by New York. Now, I'm not bashing Chicago - I know lots of folks love it. But I have limited time and money so have to pick....

SoCal...after multiple visits to SF and Seattle, I was thinking I'd love to live on the West Coast. Then I visited LA in the summer. NEVER. AGAIN.
