I have spent most my Christmas' on the road, especially as a PT truck driver... the FT help wants the day off, and I like the Holiday Pay. (No problem finding fuel or food, but get your food before noon, evenings are more scarce for eats.) I have enough food on my body reserve / or on board... You can always us "Manifold Destiny" BTDT on Holidays. (Cooking on your car engine)

Most gas stations take credit cards at the pump, so they are open 24 hours. Food will be more difficult, but a previous poster suggested putting together a cooler before leaving which is a great idea.

We've traveled the reverse route (Charlotte to Orlando and back) at Christmas and haven't had any issues with finding gas. If you just need to do a quick stop, you might find a McD's open though they will probably be operating on holiday hours so may close earlier than normal. You should be able to check the hours of restaurants along your route using Google maps.
