Hi all,

I will be flying into LAX and then taking Air New Zealand on Sept. 8. My ANZ flight isn't until 9 pm. Would I be safe arriving at LAX at 5:45? That gives us 3:15 to get our bags, check in, and get through security. I've never been through LAX before so any experienced advice would be appreciated!

Thank you

My daughter flew into LAX for a 6 week adventure tour to NZ, the only comment she made about the airport was its big and dependingt on where you come in and where you depart it can be a lot of walking..

Hi there,

So awesome that 2 hrs. prior to int'l flight should be good since arrivals to LAX "appear" to be short 3 hrs prior at reasonable rates. Anyway, just a couple questions please. I'll be going to French Polynesia in November on my first civilian int'l flight ever, so a tad nervous. So...

1. Is 2 hours prior still ok for LAX airport arrival prior to int'l flights out in your opinion?

and

2. How are those airport "anywhere shuttles" inside airport? Have you used them yourself?

Any other advice will be welcome from you. Yes, I have my passport. Ha.

Cheers,
Linda in Las Vegas

Are you flying into LAX to catch your flight to French Polynesia? If so, I'd be flying in the day before, or at the very least 10-12 hours before. If you have a hitch with your first flight into LAX, you're screwed for the overseas flight.

I know - paranoid. For good reason - been there, done that.
