Even from Acapulco, Mexico, to Honolulu, the still route you to that same kayak departure point in the Gas Works Park in Seattle, via Cortez, Colorado.

Correct, Google uses a standard starting point for Pacific ocean travel and that is Seattle via CC Honolulu. So if you were to ask for directions from Dallas Tx to Osaka Japan, or Fargo ND to Ha Long Vietnam, it would all direct you to Seattle and to kayak to CC Honolulu and kayak from CC Honolulu to where you are going.
Has absolutley nothing to do with rational sense just a way for their people to mess with you for what is an obvious goof ball request. Note they used kayak instead of flying or by modern ship, no they picked an equally goof ball method. For some reason their programmers discovered that asking for driving direction across a known no way in heck by car route was so common they decided to play a game back. They don;t do this for the atlantic or indian ocean, just the USA across the pacific.
