firkin group of pubs is pretty good, and they are located across the city. They generally (unfortunately) took over a lot of neighborhood pubs, but some have kept the same sort of pub feel to them.
Golden Star in Thornhill has wicked burgers, not pub/bar but damn good nonetheless.
Thanks for the advice! I agree, I've found some good food, but rarely mixed with hdtv programming to watch the NHL playoffs. There are a couple, and it seems the closer you get to Yonge and Front, the higher the HDTV liklihood.
Fast food in Toronto is great, places like South Street, Hero, and Lick's are good food, not just good for fast food.
Chains like Kelsey's (national) and Turtle Jack's (more of a local chain) have very good food as well. I've come across a couple of pretty mediocre chains too, interestingly, at least one is noticably more expensive than the first two.
