I've only vacationed there but it's a tie between Galveston and San Antonio, I like both.

As far as places I've lived...well they run together (Plano, Frisco, Little Elm and McKinney) so I dunno...Frisco was closest to where we had the most friends in the area, Little Elm I had the best neighbors, I loved my house in McKinney and Plano coming from way out in the boonies of Louisiana where the closest grocery store was a 60 minute drive felt like being in a major city so that was nice at the time.

Default Castroville

Beautiful European looking city in San Antonio western suburbs. The best restaurants of any small town in Texas.

I really enjoy being in Fredricksburg, I love the area around Lake Conroe, and I also love College Station and Brenham.

Take a marker, start at the NE edge of the Texas Panhandle....and draw a line straight down to the southern border.

I would not live anywhere east of that line. The farther west I get, the better I like it.

My favorite area is Alpine/Marfa/Ft Davis/Big Bend.

I live in Midland, TX,now....and I'm as far east as I ever want to be.

Me too, as you probably know. Other than NM, of course.

The TX Hill Country is lovely; if it weren't so hot and humid
in summer, I might want to live there. But I love real mountains!

Galveston is a nice place to visit, but not to live...
