I went to the Edna @ Cuero game the other night. The combined populations of Edna and Cuero is 12,000 and there were 5,000 spectators at the game. Cuero has a stadium capable of seating every resident of the town between the ages of 12-65, and it is often filled.

5A is the largest. Amarillo High and Tascosa are both 5A.

I'd say Southlake Carrol.

They have more State Championships over the 10 years and have put starting Quarterbacks in Div. I College football over the last 6 year running.

At Missouri... Chase Daniels
At Alabama...??
At Florida St..??
At North Texas...Riley Dodge
At SMU....Christian Ponder

Dont get me wrong, but you have to put it down to regions. DFW region, houston SE Texas region. Centex Region, East Texas, S.A Region, The Valley, Panhandle and west texas.
It belongs to DFW region, look at the past state champions and top recruits of the past 10 yrs. SLC, Trinity, Ennis, Denton Ryan, Allen, Prosper, The great Celina Bobcats. The past teams of Lewisville, Plano, Carter, Highland Park just continue to be winners.

You could say the same for Houston with Katy and La Marque.
And down at Converse Judson, they are the Spurs of football.

Tim Tebow is Florida's quarterback, not Florida St, and most assuredly did not play for
Southlake Carroll. Tebow is a product of Nease high school in Florida.

Lake Travis - 4A - is a growing 4A power now. 41 wins in a row, two state championships in a row, and two Div 1 QBs - Todd Reesing at Kansas and Garrett Gilbert at Texas - likely starter next year.

Ponder was at Colleyville and does not play for SMU. He's starts for FSU, not Tebow...unless something has changed.

Default Southlake Carrol

This topic/thread (kudos again to the OP) is a good one. It prompted me to call my brother (who lives in SouthLake) and ask him about it, a bit. (He played four years of high school football with the Wichita Falls High School Coyotes).

I think he pegged it pretty good. SouthLake today is the Highland Park of yesterday. As (again I mention him) Jan Reid put it pretty good. That is, the Highland Park Scotties never ceased dis-proving the "myth" that rich white boys cain't (intentional SP) play football! LOL

Today, Southlake is doing it. The reason? As my brother put it, those kids are mostly native Texans, have grown up with football. And? Dicipline and a desire to suceed and a pride in their town and school.

I gotta admire it....

I'm sorry. You are correct. That was Ponder at Florida State and Padron at SMU.

I stand corrected.

This year Cedar Hill, Allen, Carrol, Northshore, Euless Trinity, and Katy are among favorites to when 5A Titles.
