What neddy said. There's quite a bit of Texas Hill Country; could you narrow it down for us a bit?

IS Hill Country good place to raise family?

Ask your kids after they're grown. They'll thank you.

I think raising kids in a small town is devine and the Texas Hill Country is one of the nicest areas in Texas. It would be a good thing.

Towns closest to San Antonio since we have family there but are not desiring to live in a big city anymore. Thank you for your help.

I don't think I've ever heard of San Antonio being said in the same breath as "Hill Country". Hill Country has a radius of a couple of hundred miles. You're still going to need to narrow it down a bit.

Kerrville is only 45 minutes NW of San Antonio. It seemed like a great town when we visited a couple of weeks ago.

Blanco isn't that far from San Antonio, and it's definitely Hill Country. For that matter, Hill Country State Natural Area is down near San Antonio, too, in Bandera. Kerrville, Comfort, pretty much anything west of IH35 is going to be the skirts of the Hill Country on up into it.

Wouldn't finding a job be important too? If you plan to work in, say San Antonio, then two of the cities/towns mentioned (Kerville and Blanco) would be about a far as you want to go. From Kerville, on I10, traffic gets bad once you pass Boerne. For Blaco on Hwy 281, it would get bad around Bulverde (I believe, but not sure).
