Ok, so I moved into Texas sometime in the middle of September. I converted my out-of-state driver license to a Texas driver license at the time. I was told by DPS to wait about 1-2 weeks.

So far, it has been about 5 weeks and I still haven't received my license in the mail.

I called up DPS and they said it was mailed out to the correct address on September 20. They said to call back for replacement license if I still do not receive it in the mail. The DPS rep was otherwise not very reasonable. He was talking of how I should continue waiting for the card and that I should consider how Hurricane Ike has affected mail delivery. Complete bull.

I've been a victim of identity theft before. What's the likelihood of it happening again with someone else having my driver license? What should I do?

I reapplied for my license on line. It got lost. I went in for a pic and never got that license. I then moved and the third license never showed up. Got my fourth license finally (the one with the bad hair day, of course). In 6 months of lost licenses, repeated picture taking, etc, my identity never was stolen (this was in 2002).
