I was so excited when I found this, I was like "Wow, current data!" it was cool sifting through and looking at how all the urban areas stacked up. We have a ways to go I tell you that much. On that note though did you notice how low Atlanta's urbanized area density was? Haha, looks like some people might have some new ammunition.

Houstonians and Dallasites arguing about what city is more sprawling is like listening to two junkies arguing about who is more strung out.

All the bickering about the petty differences between the two really goes to show that the cities are more alike than they are different more than they think they are.

I could not agree more. I love the analogy!

Hilarious! Although I think Austin and Dallas would make better junkies for that scenario.

I'd pick Houston over Dallas. As a matter of fact, I did!

You would have to be a very tall giraffe to breathe in Houston.

No, but the sprawl is worse than Houston. I know that make no sense but think Atlanta. Once you leave the core, its nothing but big yards, narrow roads, no sidewalks, etc

Houston and Dallas at least have dense continuous sprawl compared to Austin.

Funny thread. I am a Dallas native, lived there my whole life until I joined the Air Force (and even then my first duty station was Carswell in Ft. Worth!). Finally left in 1986. Ya know, this has always gone on hasn't it and it's just a bit of fun. Dallasites can't stand Houston; Houstonians can't stand Dallas, yet we all think San Antonio is great, but we wouldn't want to live there...hehe...and I did for six years...that's why I live in Colorado now...too damn hot! In the end though we all love each other because we're all Texans. Gotta admit, if I ever did move back to Texas, it would be.....DALLAS!
