My family and I will be moving to Abilene in April. I have searched for jobs on-line in Abilene (and surrounding areas) and have been disappointed. I'm either under qualified with experience but qualified with education or vice-versa. I have a Master's in Business Administration, over 15 years of customer service experience (including 2 years of banking customer service), and 2 years of teaching in the continuing education department of a community college. I would prefer a position not in the customer service field. Other than that I am game for anything. (Honestly, I would prefer a job as an executive or in research like a credit analyst maybe, basically being able to use my degree). My husband is in the military and we may retire there.

Does anyone know which companies are really good to work for or will be hiring soon (specifically April)?

Thanks

Much of west Texas doesn't do the online thing. They still depend on someone walking in the door and putting in an app in person. There are 3 universities,a couple of jr colleges, numerous oil companies, lots of banks, civilian jobs at the base, etc. But nothing replaces hitting the streets in person.

i would check out the DoD jobs at Dyess AFB since you have spousal point preference
also how about a career with TDCJ-Texas Department of Criminal Justice? They run two large units here-the Robertson Unit and Middleton Unit?

In Abilene it's hard to find a decent job, especially if you don't know anyone. I'd do a temp agency first and that will get you in the door. The job market really sucks in Abilene, I'm sorry.
