Port Isabell (Brownsville, Harlingen, South Padre Island: rent, crime, find a job)

Im gonna to move to Port Isabelle in the next few wa small town country girl. I was wondering how is the crime there im small town country girl thats a little nervous of big citys. I did grow in KCK. Are jobs easy to find there. whats the cost of livin there? Im a single mother that about to change her life dramatically Need a major change. Im will be stayin with my sister but needs to find a job and a place fast. Any help or advice would be greatly apprecited, Thanks

It is spelled Port Isabel. It is what many would describe as a sleepy fishing village. There is very little crime and is just a couple of miles across the causeway from South Padre Island which is a popular tourist destination. You may be able to find work there in the area of hospitality. Brownsville is 20 miles away and Harlingen is about 25-30 miles. Both of those are relatively larger cities. I stress the work relatively. KCK is a major metropolis compared to any of these places. The largest it Brownsville with a population of about 180k. The cost of living is low in Port Isabel, Brownsville and Harlingen. Rent and such is a little higher on South Padre. Good luck.
