Hello all,
I'm new to this forum, so bare with me. I plan on moving to Texas this summer from New York. I'm looking for a one bedroom between 1000-1200 a month in sugarland. However, every housing complex that I find seems to have horrible reviews. Does anyone have any recommendations? And how is sugarland overall? Also, I'm plan on working at Texas childrens hospital and attend university of Houston sugar land campus or the cinco ranch. Any recommendations on other areas to live?

I ALMOST moved to the Sugar Land area this June, but my university in California wasn't a huge fan of me returning home while still a student. Anyways, I did a bunch of house hunting when I came for a visit. With your budget, you could contact a realtor and try to find a rental home. My budget was only $1200 and I was visiting homes in Cinco Ranch and Missouri City that were really nice. Just be sure to visit before you sign anything. Certain areas are better than others.

Much of Sugar Land tends to be upscale. However, you should ask a mod to move this to the Houston forum, or search that forum for more information.

Choose 'Search' on the menu bar
Keywords = 'sugar land' w/space
User name = blank, uncheck exact name
Search in forum = Houston, leave 'child forums' checked

For the forum purposes, Sugar Land is a suburb of Houston. Look for thread titles that might reflect your interests.

From the list of Moderators, https://www.city-data.com/forum/faq/1...ator-list.html, choose one from 'Texas' or 'Houston' and send a message requesting to move the thread to 'Houston'. At some point you'll see that your thread has been moved.

Good luck.

I feel like this is the notion everyone has, but really it's just more upper-middle class than anything, which just translates to slightly nicer chain restaurants and retail options, slightly less crime, and slightly more elaborate strips of nature at neighborhood/shopping/freeway entrances. It has about as many truly rich people there as it has middle-middle class citizens. I mean, don't get me wrong, for a suburb's standards it's really nice, but it's not like you're in Memorial at all.
