I have not yet been to the area to visit prior to our relocation, and am interested in feedback on these areas. We have 2 small kids and want the best schools, rec areas, and of course, re-sale value. My husband will be driving to the Galena park area daily. We are looking for at least a 4/2.5 under 250K.

So, what are the thoughts on the following areas?
Fall Creek, Summerwood, or Eagle Springs????
also, am i neglecting any great areas.

I notice a lot of forclosures, should that be telling me anything negative about the area?
thanks,

I would say nothing negative abt the area just the economy in general. We have friends who live in Eagle Springs and they say that people are loosing their jobs right and left around the Houston area hence the forclosres. We built in Eagle Springs back in 2001 for the sheer fact that at the time Summerwood always seemed to take a big hit when storms came thru and were always out of power. I also here the cable there stinks. If you look you will see a ton of palmettos in the area down there which is of concern to me. No flooding but obviously enough water to cause mushy areas.
I would steer clear of Park Lakes or Canyon Village for the sheer fact that the dump is right behind there!
We are fixing to relocate back to the area at the end of spring and honestly we still have our hearts set on Eagle Springs again. We never had any issues with the surounding neighborhoods and they really are not that bad at all. We enjoyed Eagle Springs and loved raising our two young sons there and hopefully if we can find a great home there for the same price range you all are looking at. We will be starting kindergarten in the fall.
Now between Eagle Springs and Summerwood I would say that for us it will all depend on where we can get the most house for the money. Better commute time in Summerwood bit we have friends still in Eagle Springs so it is a trade off for us.
Good luck house hunting! All in all it is a great area there and I am excited that the new Target and all that is now pen!
FYI though, if you go pre owned in Eagle Sorings make sure you get an inspection which really you should get anyways but definently in the older sections of ES. Several friends of ours...three and counting....all have had foundation issues that they found out abt right after we moved away. Took a year to get them corrected!

What is the average commute time to downtown (Texas St) from Eagle Springs compared to Fall Creek or Summerwood? What route to the 59?
