The only places in Texas that are colder than Amarillo are those cities and towns north of it--Dumas, Dalhart, Gruver, Perryton, Pampa, Borger, etc. etc.

And, Amarillo is closer to Denver, Colo., Albuquerque and Santa Fe NM, Oklahoma City and Tulsa, OK, than it is to Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, and Houston.

I'm just getting to know Texas, so I enjoy seeing threads about places I haven't visited yet like Amarillo. The state is so enormous that it's like trying to familiarize myself with about five "normal" states at once.
