We're new to the forum so I'll make this "Short and sweet"....We're looking for any info about Chandler, surrounding towns, and lake Palestine itself. Maybe want to retire there.

I can tell you a little about Chandler. It is a tiny town with a highway running through the center of it. Activities include church. There is one big, clean grocery store and they carry your groceries to your car plus bag them and unload them. There is a Sonic drive in , a tiny post office, three big, nice gas stations. Kids are bussed to Brownsboro schools which are not that good. A small smattering of restaurants, one I visited that was Mexican and very good. The Chinese drive thru isn't good nor is the tiny buffett one . There is a very nice drugstore, privately owned with gifts, a flower shop, an excellent pizza place (just call and order then drive up) and a tiny bank or two.
You 'll never find nicer people than in Chandler. It is a fifteen minute drive north at between 55-70mph to the south of Tyler. There is a nice assisted living place; nothing fancy. One small, level cemetery nicely kept.
