We are a military family moving to Abilene, TX this summer. My husband will be working at Dyess AFB. He does not mind the commute as our priority is to find the best schools for our two kids. I would appreciate any information regarding schools that I should consider when registering my Sophmore son and my 8th grader daughter.
Thank you in advance for your help!!

You may want to consider posting this in the military life forum. Your target audience is there and there are a lot of people that are willing to help.

For now, I'll say contact the Dyess AFB Family Readiness Center (Formerly Family Support) and housing offices and see what kind of information they can provide.

Also, have your husband be aggressive in communicating with his sponsor. If he doesn't have one yet, or hasn't heard from one then he should contact the unit/workcenter to which he is being assigned and ask for one. If they work the program right, your sponsor should also be a married person with kids and of similar rank. But quite honestly, the sponsor program is only as good as those that are part of the process. I had some really good ones, and some really bad ones.

I have no idea how long you've been "in", so I realize you may already know this information. I'm assuming you've looked at the official websites for information. As always, the internet is your friend as well:

Here's an unofficial place to start a web search:
