The best parts of town are by Abilene Christian and the South side served by Wylie ISD

Quail Hollow is in the far southwestern side of town. I don't know anybody that lives there but it's in a good area so it should be okay. As mentioned above, the apartments in the far south side of town (79606 zip code) will be the best ones. The are some nice apartments around Abilene Christian University on the far northeastern side of town, however, there will be more college students in those apartments.

marjaneh, can we ask if there is a particular reason you're moving to Abilene? Work? School? Love? Paradise? An answer isn't required but something directional could help to point you in that direction.

Abilene isn't a very dynamic place. It is kinda spread out but some of the inner city strip shops are empty. Most of the quality living has moved to the southwest towards the Wylie area (Wylie schools, not to be confused with the Wylie Ind School District in Dallas), or towards Abilene Christian University... the hill.

In the southwest - towards Buffalo Gap - are several newer apartments and suburbs, and most of the senior citizen residences. And the mall. Dyess AFB is just west of Abilene and the southwest is more easily accessible then the rest of town.

My mention of 'paradise' above is mostly in jest. If you have never seen Abilene then just take a deep breath before looking. Compared to Alpharetta... well, good luck.

No, I lived there for all most 20 years. The wind can blow hard though.
